PAIA manual
Prepared in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000.
1. Purpose of this manual
This manual tells you what records Burgeon Plumbing holds, how to ask for access to them, who to contact, and how we handle personal information. It is published because PAIA requires every private body to have one, and because the exemption that previously covered small businesses fell away on 31 December 2021.

This website is served from a hosting provider with servers outside South Africa, which receives technical information about visits but no enquiry data — there is no enquiry form on the site. Messages sent to us by WhatsApp or email are processed outside South Africa by Meta and by our email provider respectively. No other personal information is transferred out of the country.
7.5 Security measures
Encrypted website connection, two-factor authentication on business email and WhatsApp, access to customer records restricted to the business owner, deletion of photographs from enquiries that did not become a job, and password protection on devices holding customer records.
8. How to request a record
Complete Form C (the prescribed request form, available from the Information Regulator's website) and send it to the Information Officer at the address above. Set out which record you want and in what form, and give us an address or email to reply to. If you are asking on someone else's behalf, include proof that you may do so.
We will respond within 30 days. A request fee and an access fee may be payable, as prescribed in the Regulations. There is no fee for asking for a record about yourself. If we refuse a request we will tell you why and explain how to appeal.
9. Availability of this manual
This manual is available free of charge on this website, and on request by email or telephone. A copy will be given to any person on request against payment of the prescribed fee, and to the Information Regulator on request.
10. Updating
The Information Officer will review and update this manual whenever the business changes in a way that affects it, and at least once every two years.
